:: You Are Not Alone [Life as an Orphan] (Jen’s Story)

Jen is one of my favorite people in the world. This whole family, actually, brings me so much joy. Earlier this year, we met at their house for a freezing outdoor session of family pictures and as they pictures show, they LOVE each other so well. One of the things that has most blessed me…

Courtney-Ke Williams - Thank you for sharing this family’s journey. What an amazing revelation! That is so true. I never thought of it in that way. Blessings to you and this family.

Beth Templeton - What an encouraging post. I really do relate with these experiences as the mother of 4 adopted children. It is just so so wonderful how Holy Spirit leads us– I love how He gave Jen the words to speak to her daughter. And I so agree– Father God, may we all (parents and children) learn to receive love as daughters and sons from you! Blessings!

Kelsi Ebel - I recently started reading this blog, and would love to follow you on instagram! my name is kelsiebel on instagram!

Samantha Bird - B is an awesome kid, and the way he is with his heart knowledge just makes me swoon!

jenny marrs - amber – this is so beautiful! don’t you love the moments when WE learn from our kiddos? the innocence of their faith is refreshing. :) I was on a media fast last week and it was such a special time that God used to remind me that HE is the one that should be the center of my life and not social media…like you said, it is a way to bond and have conversations with other moms during the day so it was hard to let go, but I loved the special things God showed me throughout the week. He is GOOD :) !!!

Judith Hauser McBride - This blessed my heart, Amber. God is always the answer…we too often forget that in our struggle to serve Him and in the busyness of our lives. Be still and know that I am GOD!

Robin - Colin,
What an amazing and beautiful post! I am so glad that you now understand the depths of God’s love for you. I have a daughter from China who was adopted 6 days before her 14th birthday, so I have heard a lot about life in the orphanage. She, too, understands God’s love for her now. May God continue to bless your life and the lives of your brothers.

SleepyKnitter - Great post, Colin! Thank you for helping us understand better what life was like for you in China and what other children are experiencing there now. Thank you also for sharing the verse that has brought you comfort. I will teach it to my adopted children and pray that it helps them the way it has helped you. God’s Word is powerful!

:: You Are Not Alone [Type 1 Diabetes: Freedom from the Flesh] (Emily’s story)

With Emily’s story comes the announcement that I’m now taking submissions for this series. This is a somewhat daunting task, but fits so perfectly with the theme of the series that I feel we’d all be missing out on something beautiful if I try to maintain control of this thing. So, if you’d like to…

:: You Are Not Alone [When You Feel Messy] (Lara’s Story)

And while I don’t always know what I’m doing, I do know what I want to be doing. I can look back at where we started and where the Lord has brought us and I finally have a grasp on what it is I hope to spend these precious years on. I want one thing for my children: to draw them farther from themselves and closer to Jesus.
