  • Lynn Milton Hollaway - I always remind myself to be ready to bloom where God puts me. it may not be where I thought I wanted to be but before long he shows me how he always has my best interest at heart. There are days when I do forget to invite Jesus into me and then realize why I am not being the best I am meant to be. Especially on those days I do not physically feel well.ReplyCancel

The past few days have been full of good news, miracles, and unbelievably fast turnaround on things that usually take days or weeks… BUT …with every piece of good news, it seems there is one more thing one more piece of paper missing one more day we need to wait one more change of our […]

Cannot wait to look back on it with you. Let’s both keep this song on repeat for this next little bit k? LOVE YOU!ReplyCancel

Alinda Rose Morrow’s first sunrise as an official daughter. Overlooking the Nile River, a hippo grunting nearby. Eden Hannah Doyle’s first sunrise as an official daughter. Acacia trees overhead. Ugandan crested cranes running around leaving their tiny forked footprints in the wet sand. These two babies and I have seen many sunrises this past year. […]

  • :: over and over again » :: Mandie in Africa Update - […] Months after those two reunions, on October 7th, Rachel and I bathed and moisturized our last two babies. We put them in clothes that had been laid out days in advance. We topped them off with bottles to make sure they wouldn’t be fussy. The driver called to say they were just entering Jinja and the butterflies in my stomach started. We waited outside for the blue gate to swing open. Their faces at first sight of their daughters were worth all the sleepless nights, all the missing that would follow. And then, November 6th: the night when they came back, bringing daddies who had not yet met their daughters. We surprised them at the airport just a little after midnight. Another moment I will never forget. Handing daughters to their fathers…forever. […]ReplyCancel

When your favorite season is fall and you live in Uganda, you just have to make fall happen. The weather doesn’t change here so we can’t wear boots and scarves, but you learn to make do. I kick the dry leaves on a walk into town and stand on the front porch early and soak […]
